About
Born in Switzerland, Gözde Oral spent most of her youth in the USA and Canada. She received her BA in Graphic Design from Bilkent University in Ankara. Granted a Fulbright Scholarship in 1991, she attended Pratt Institute of Art & Design in New York and earned her MS in Visual Communication Design. 
Upon returning to Turkey she settled in Istanbul and began work as a graphic designer at Ajans Ultra Advertising, continuing on as an art director at Young & Rubicam / Reklamevi from 1994 to 2000. During this period she received various awards from the Graphic Designers Association (GMK), the Advertisers Association (RD) and The Young Creatives Competition in Cannes, France.
After leaving advertising she co-partnered in a graphic design firm until 2006, at which time she set up her own design studio. Focusing on clients in the creative industries such as art, music and publishing, she has also taken on small-scale projects for various individuals, businesses and institutions. 
Together with her design practice, she taught Design Studio, Information Visualization and Design Thinking classes at the Visual Arts & Visual Communication Design Program of Sabancı University between 2014-2024.
She has served on the Board of Directors of the Graphic Designers Association of Turkey.
